2024 Expectations

Well, it's finally 2024! New year, new me, I can't believe 2023 flew by so fast. There are so many memories I made in 2023 that I'm not ready to get over yet, such as my vacation to Japan during the year end break and winning my piano and fencing competitions. But, 2024 also means new expectations and goals.


Firstly, one of my main goals is to do well in my studies, especially in the subjects science and math. I am now currently in Year 8, and since I did extremely badly in those two subjects with somehow a 52 in math and 63 in science in Year 7, my goal this year is to get at least an A in both of them. My second goal for this year is to finish in 2nd or 1st place in my piano concerto competition. For those who don't know what a concerto is, a concerto is a very long piece of music which has an orchestra playing with you in a piano or any instrument competition. This is probably going to be one of my hardest goals yet since the piece has over 20 pages. My final goal for this year is to try to not to be as careless as I was for the past few years. I’m probably the only person in my house who trips over probably everything I walk over. For example, just yesterday I was walking casually towards my room and suddenly tripped and fell over nothing. 


In order to achieve these goals, I have made a plan to achieve them. First of all, to achieve good results in school, I would have to cut down on my usage of social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp and many more because the last time I checked my screen time for Instagram, I had a whopping 5 hours spent on it. Which is exactly why I should definitely decrease my screen time and set a 1 hour timer on some of my apps. Another thing I want to achieve is to at least do 20 minutes of exercise per day. Some might say exercise is pretty useless, but in my opinion, exercise is important for my body so that I can stay fit and healthy. It's also useful when I stay indoors for too long, as it allows me to go outside and breathe some fresh air. 


And to achieve my piano goal, I have vowed to practice the piano every single day (excluding holidays) so my fingers are always warmed up and so that I can learn my pieces faster. It would also help me by not getting lectured by my piano teacher every single week. Now, the only goal left is to reduce my carelessness. To achieve my goal, I would have to look around my surroundings whenever I walk so I wouldn't trip or fall over anything anymore.


These are all of my 2024 expectations and goals. I hope that I will be able to achieve these goals by the end of 2024. That's all I have to say for now, maybe you should try to make some expectations for this year as well and see the end results in the year end!
