The idea to revitalize this amazing platform came into my mind during the nationwide MCO. The MCO was very boring for me as I was barred from physically socializing with my friends. I felt that through this website, we could better communicate with one another other anytime, anywhere.
At first, I was positive that starting up the We At Tenby platform would be an easy process, as the template for the website had already been created by our seniors. However, upon looking up the website, the infamous, “404 Page Not Found”, was all that was shown on the screen. I decided to create a brand-new website as I was determined to get this platform up and running. Once I had completed planning the layout of the website, the type of content that would be featured, and how we would source this content, I presented it to Mr. Faulkner. He was incredibly supportive of the platform and thought that it was a great idea. With the green light from Mr. Faulkner, I set out on creating a well-rounded We At Tenby team to accompany me on this journey. I finally settled on my brilliant team members: Jolyn, head of design, Sean, head of editing, and Dwi, head of editing.

With this new and amazing team, the 100% student-led website was being revitalized, revamped, and rebuilt at a steady pace. However, we soon ran into problems as nobody had the login details for the accounts! After numerous failed attempts to source the details from our seniors, we decided it would be best to reset all the login details. I had to visit the IT department twice to get a new password. Once everything was settled, we were ready to publish the website. All that was left was a final presentation to Mr. Faulkner.
November
Mr. Faulkner complemented our progress, and we were asked to have a meeting to discuss the website with Mr. Ison! Presentation in hand and determination in our hearts we met with Mr. Ison in his office to discuss the website. We just had PE before the meeting, but we were too nervous to feel even an ounce of tiredness.
In the end, the result was successful! Mr. Ison loved the idea and even proposed presenting it to all students during the End of Term Assembly, which was just two weeks away. The We At Tenby team and Mr. Ison both wanted this website to be the legacy of Tenby, so we saw it only fit to select four special, responsible, and trustworthy students from Year 10 to be our deputies. These students were handpicked by Ms. Pasheena, Ms. Toms and Ms. Dodd. We were very happy to welcome Nicole, Xander, Shuvdarshana and Qiao Yet to the team! We then started looking for potential members of the outreach team. With two students from each secondary year joining the outreach team, the We at Tenby team was finally complete!
Moving forward
Although we were incredibly busy recruiting team members and writing articles, this experience has been fascinating and insightful for all of us. Overall, we have all enjoyed the two-month project of setting up this amazing platform. I would like to thank my senior team members, Jolyn, Dwi, and Sean, for their vast contributions to this website. I look forward to working with this brand-new team for the next few months!
And to all Tenbians, stay tuned!
