My New Year Goals!

Iena

The beginning of the new year is the ideal time to turn a new page, which is likely why so many people make new year resolutions. The new year often feels like a fresh first, a good opportunity to remove bad habits and initiate new functions that can help you develop psychologically, emotionally, socially, physically, or intellectually. Certainly, resolutions are often easier to make than to continue and by the end of January, some of us might even abandon our document and fall back into our past designs.

New year resolutions are as big a part of my life as new year celebrations are. Having a new year resolution is to be proud and share my knowledge or something with others. New year resolution is very important for me because I must have a purpose or goal. Also, the new year’s resolution is a portion I want to achieve. It is what I promised myself at the end of the year. It is a good time as I learn from my past mistakes and set new goals. There are two main resolutions that I will achieve this year: to improve my Math and read more books!

One of my new year’s resolutions is to improve my Math. Maths is important to learn well because it is a subject that we will use throughout our lives. The best way to improve my Maths is to practice. To improve anything in our lives, the most useful and important thing we can do is practice. My mother always says that ‘Practice makes perfect’ and since I was young I have always hated that saying.‘Why must it be all about practice?’ I thought. I have researched to find other resources to improve things I am bad at but have come to no avail. The truth is that practice does not make perfect but it can make it better. No one is perfect. No one will ever be. Which is why one of my resolutions is to improve my Math and not to be perfect at it. ‘How will you complete your resolution?’ you ask? Practice.

Secondly, my new year’s resolution is to read more books. Reading is very important. Books will take me to a new world and help me deal with my daily worries. Reading refreshes my soul and I will have a healthy mindset. Reading books stimulates my brain muscles and keeps my brain healthy and strong. Reading helps me develop my mind and keeps my mind active and develops my creativity. Reading enhances thinking. When I read books, my ideas flourish and I am able to develop new ideas for writing. Reading helps me explore life from different perspectives. The habit of reading books makes us knowledgeable, enhances our vocabulary, and thinking power. Books help us as our best guides when we are in difficult situations. Reading books is the best way of relieving the stress level in people of every age group. This is why I want to start the habit of reading every night before going to bed.

In the end, I realize that these goals are just there to make us better people and to give us a shot at changing our future right at the start. So, I hope you get on your feet and start making some resolutions as I wish you a Happy New Year!
