Singapore Shenanigans: Merlion Mayhem and Monster Mall Mania!

Mukatdeep

Yo, yo, yo! Get ready for a whirlwind tour of Singapore through the eyes of Mukatdeep, a 12-year-old adventurer with a serious case of Merlion-mania! This December trip wasn't just any vacation; it was a monster mash of mall madness and Merlion myth-busting.

Buckle up, buttercup, because we're hurtling headfirst into the heart of the Lion City! After a fatiguing 4-hour car ride, we finally landed at my cousin's pad. Warm welcomes, fluffy beds, and Mukatdeep’s approved breakfast of McDonald's pancakes, milo, and the holy grail of hashbrowns awaited. Fuelled up and ready to rumble, we hopped onto the MRT and zipped towards Marina Bay Sands.

Now, picture this: a kilometre-long stroll through a mall that's more like a mini-metropolis. Then, bam! We're soaring to the top of Marina Bay Sands, the world practically shrinking beneath our feet. The view was mind-blowing, like stepping onto a rooftop cloud.

After conquering the "top of the world," we chilled by the mighty Merlion, soaking in its mythical vibes and snacking like champions. Next stop? My personal heaven: the Apple Store at Marina Bay Sands! This tech haven is a sleek, dome-shaped beauty that would make any Apple fan weep with joy. (Don't worry, Apple Park in California, you're still my number one!) Even without new gadgets to drool over, just being there is pure bliss. Plus, who can resist a two-story Apple Orchard Road gleaming in the middle of the street? Talk about the intricate design!

Time flies when you're geeking out over iPhones, and before we knew it, two hours had vanished. Our stomachs, however, hadn't gotten the memo. Luckily, my favourite food court was just a hop away, and oh boy, did that chicken rice silence my grumbling tummy!

Of course, the Singaporean sky had other plans. As if on cue, the rain started pouring, trapping us in the food court like small rats with full bellies. But hey, what's a little downpour when you have family to catch up with? We hopped in a Grab (Singapore's answer to magic carpets) and landed at another mall, ready for some quality time with my awesome aunt and cousins. Even though malls are usually shopping havens, this one was all about laughter, games, and creating memories that would make any sunbeam jealous.

By the time we said our goodbyes, the rain had stopped, and the sun was setting in a blaze of orange and purple. Back on the MRT, zipping towards home, we watched the city transform into a neon wonderland. Before we knew it, the moon replaced the sun, and bedtime called.

And just like that, December 26th in Singapore came to a glorious end. It was a whirlwind of Merlion magic, mall mayhem, and monster-sized family fun. A trip I'll never forget, and one that proves that sometimes, the best adventures are the ones that take you by surprise.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags, grab your sense of adventure, and get ready to experience the Singapore shenanigans for yourself!
