This week, we are honoring teachers. Teaching is much more than a profession. It is a talent, an intellectual and caring aspect of life that enriches the lives of thousands of striving students. On the other hand, being a teacher is not the same as the concept of teaching; it takes compassion, patience, and resilience to become a successful teacher. Teachers are like the leaves of each flower, holding the petals together and allowing the blossom to shine above all other parts of the plant. There would be no flower if the leaves did not exist.
This week, I interviewed a couple of teachers with some short questions and here are their wonderful answers! I hope you guys enjoy this!
Interview with Ms Kavitha
Why do you enjoy Computer Science?
“ Computer science has always been a passion of mine without me knowing. I just really enjoyed learning and attaining knowledge about the latest versions of technology out there ever since I was little until now.”
Interview with Mr Fenwick
Who is your favorite teacher? Why?
“ Definitely, the Head PE teacher at my school. He was always encouraging students to participate, play, and give it their all in sports. Not to mention that he strongly encouraged me to participate in sports and was (and still is) a role model for me! So, yeah, he was fantastic.”
Interview with Mr O’Donnell
How has teaching changed your life?
“ Well… It taught me how to be much more patient and tolerant of my students. I'm kidding! All jokes aside, teaching has made me a more empathetic human being because it allows me to see learning through the eyes of students, and I have definitely become more culturally aware. Especially since different students come from various backgrounds, learning about them and their cultures has been both pleasurable and meaningful for me.”
Interview with Ms Renee
Why did you choose to be a teacher?
“ To be honest, I didn't always think I wanted to be a teacher. It was a friend's suggestion, and once I learned it and became a teacher, I fell in love with it. Seeing students' progress, in particular, is what motivates me to be a teacher, you know? It's heartwarming to see how students improve year after year!”
