Elise wandered around her new house, bringing some boxes in with her as she admired it. It was occupied with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with it, not to mention it was also two stories tall, all for 18,800 dollars. She walked around putting the boxes in her new living room and explored the place, trying her best to remember the layout of the house before coming across a room that the property agent didn’t present. She put her hand on the door handle, slowly pushing it down. It was stuck, only slightly moving. She tried again before heading to the suitcase and taking the keys to each room in the house. She opened the case and found the key for that room and went back to the room and swore she saw the key lock on it, but it was gone now.
It had just disappeared… There wasn’t a key lock anymore even though the key was right in her hand. She blinked, thinking she was just delusional. There really wasn’t anything there, a plain door knob without a key lock… She panicked before going to get her phone and calling the property agent.
“Hello?” The other side of the phone picked up almost immediately, in a panicked voice she spoke “Hello? Um- this is Elise, I have a question about the house.”
There was a pause before the Agent interrupted her, “Is it about a room?” Elise was shocked to say the least, how did the Agent know?...
“Yes, there’s a room… it’s locked and well, there's no key lock on it…”
She heard the agent let out a sigh on the other side of the phone, before he spoke “Listen, I can’t tell you anything about that door, just at 12 to 4:56 in the morning, if you hear a knock on the door, do not, and I mean, do not answer it… That’s all I can say about it…”
Before Elise could say anything else, the agent hung up on her. She gulped and looked back at the door of the mysterious room. Her first instinct was to trust the agent, but she desperately wanted to know what was in that room. She approached it and knocked on the door, the echo on the other side was louder than it normally would be. Then she noticed some smoke coming out from beneath the door as she quickly tried swiping it away as it began filling the hallway quickly. She panicked, desperately trying to avoid it before she felt dizzy. She tried covering the bottom of the door but the duct tape melted from the smoke almost immediately, everything else wouldn’t work as well. The item would either be set on fire or melt immediately. Melted items, however, had a weird chemical reaction, as it melted it exhibited a disgusting smell that smelled like vomit. She tried everything to stop it before the headache got worse, making her more dizzy. The dizziness exacerbated as she stumbled before collapsing on the floor. Hours later she awoke to a knock on the door, unaware of what the time was, just knowing it was late at night, she answered the door.
“Hello?” she asked, her vision was a bit blurry before she felt a harsh hit on her head. The last thing she heard was a simple sentence consisting of four words: “You don't belong here.”
